Tangmo, Ladapha Sophonkunkit (1991) was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. She recently graduated from the Live Art and Performance Studies (LAPS) programme at the University of the Arts Helsinki.
As a Thai performance artist and producer, Tangmo works between Bangkok and Helsinki, creating a unique blend of cultural influences in her art. Her practice focuses on re-remembering the past while reimagining possible futures, using performance as a medium to engage audiences in a dialogue about identity, memory, and positionality.
Tangmo's work often invites participants to reflect on their own experiences and perspectives, fostering a deeper understanding of the complexities of contemporary life. By weaving together personal narratives with broader societal themes, she challenges viewers to reconsider their connections to history and envision new possibilities for the future.
